Kaal Sarp Yoga is a term often used by the astrologers when you go to them to consult about your horoscope or kundli. This is a common astrological yoga found in the natal charts of many people. It is a negative yoga often called dosha formed in a birth chart. This is an astrological combination which is known to bring several adverse effects in one’s life. Kaal Sarp yoga or dosha can turn the overall life of a person upside down making him face struggles and failures at every aspect in life.
When all the planets are between Rahu and Ketu, it is called as Kala Sarpa. Therefore, if the planets are going towards Ketu, it is Kala Sarpa Yoga. And if the planets are going towards Rahu, it is Kala Sarpa dosha. To gain an in depth understanding of this dosha one must talk to astrologer and take necessary measures as suggested by them.
According to astrology, Kaal Sarp Yoga is nothing but the results of the bad deeds or sins committed during past lives. After all, we all have to reap what we have sown. It may occur if a person has tortured a living being/snake either in the present or in the previous life. There are varied types of Kaal Sarp Yogas known by different names each being formed due to the special placement of planets in the chart. Each yoga or dosha has its own unique effects.
How is Kaal Sarp Dosha formed in a Kundli
We all are aware that in astrology there are nine planets. These vlanets can either be malefic or benefic in the chart depending upon their lordships and placements. Just like other planets, Rahu and Ketu can also be either malefic or benefic in a horoscope. Though they may create endless difficulties when they are malefic in your horoscope, at the same time they can also bless the native with prosperity if they are benefic. When one or both of these nodes are malefic in a horoscope; they may form various types of doshas in a horoscope and trouble the native in different spheres of his life.
Here in this article, we will talk about the most fearsome defect made by Rahu and Ketu in a horoscope known as Kaal Sarp Yoga or Kaal Sarp Dosha. According to its common definition; if in a horoscope, all seven planets are placed within the axis of Rahu and Ketu; Kaal Sarp Yog is formed in the horoscope. For example, if Rahu is placed in second house of a horoscope, Ketu is placed in eighth house of the same horoscope and the remaining seven planets are positioned in the houses ranging from second to eighth then Kaal Sarp Yoga is formed in such horoscope. Alternatively, they may be placed in between eighth to second houses.
Rahu and Ketu are always at a distance of 180 degrees from each other and hence are placed opposite to each other. Once formed in a horoscope, Kaal Sarp Yog can trouble the native with challenges in almost every sphere of life; depending on the houses involved as per the placements of Rahu and Ketu in such horoscope.
Some also suggest that even if Moon lies outside the axis of Rahu and Ketu while the other six planets are inside this axis; Kaal Sarp Yoga is still formed but that will be of lesser quantum called partial Kaal Sarp Yog. The planets placed in the houses of placements of Rahu and Ketu are considered to be enclosed by them.
How worse is Kaal Sarp Dosha
Kaal Sarp Dosha is a condition that may be formed in a horoscope of a beggar and at the same time even a rich person may have it in his kundli. Then how come people with such far apart status will be affected by this common kaal sarp dosha? This certainly means that in some cases, Kaal Sarp yoga may bring impressive results to people. The aspects generally affected are personal relationships, marriage, childbirth, cut in longevity etc. Because of these negative effects, this combination is considered inauspicious whereas, on the other side, it also helps people enjoy success in their lives.
Where such disparities come from?
The basic notion of astrology is that for any effect to be negative; the planet or planets involved in its formation must be malefic. It means when Rahu and Ketu are malefic in a birth chart and the basic condition for the formation of Kaal Sarp Yoga is fulfilled in such horoscope; Kaal Sarp Yog is formed in that horoscope. On the other hand, if Rahu and Ketu both are benefic or even one out of two is benefic in a horoscope; Kaal Sarp Yog doesn’t form in such horoscope.
Each and every planet changes its functional nature in quantum with every passing minute. As a result, a planet that was supposed to give extremely benefic results may give average results within a matter of an hour; and in fact may give malefic results within a few hours. Same process is followed in the case of a malefic planet where after reaching its peak from being extremely malefic, it may reduce its intensity and finally may start giving benefic results within a couple of hours.
This phenomenon keeps repeating itself in a cycle, for each and every planet. That is why so many different types of planetary arrangements become possible in various horoscopes. The constant change in the sky bringing changes in the intensities of all planets among navagraha are responsible for giving birth to billions of people with varied temperament in the world; by means of billions of different planetary energies as well as their placements.
Hence even within a specific period; Kaal Sarp Yog may not form in the horoscope of every native born during such period. This is because the required criterion for the formation of Kaal Sarp Yoga may keep changing with every passing minute and hour. It means that for all people born on a particular day when all seven planets are enclosed between Rahu and Ketu; some of them may have Kaal Sarp Yog whereas some others may not have; depending on the auspicious or inauspicious placement of Rahu and Ketu in their horoscopes.
